Cheryl,

No worries ~ I'll post when it comes out :-)

The title is "Summoned to Destiny" and you can find it on Amazon if you do a search. It *is* one of Julie's anthologies...her first Fantasy one - but she's also done a number of Young Ault SF anthologies, and two adult SF anthologies.

Hi everyone!
Sandtiger, your name is Jana, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you the Jana from Julie's website?

I have to get to Julie's website sometime. All the great people seem to be over their. Julie, Janny and Jana I'm going to have to change first letter of my name to a J. Maybe I could be Jeryl. lol Hi Ika hope Sandtiger doesn't mind me saying it is her from over their. Sounds like it's a great group of people.

Hi Ika,

Yes - I am the Jana from Julie's Newsgroup. Jana Paniccia.

(Er, at least I am *me* if it's a good thing!)

Cheryl,

I think most of the people here know me by both names - so it's not a secret. ::laugh:: No worries about sharing.

Sandtiger I saw that Summoned to Destiny book on Julie's site. Like the cover a lot. I'll look forward to it and reading your story in Oct. I don't normally buy short stories but this one looked interesting and I need to learn how short stories go. Glad you didn't mind Sandtiger or Jana some people get all fussy about things, thanks.

Glad you liked the cover!!!! (It's done by an incredible guy in BC named Kenn Brown - quite talented)

The publisher has really done an amazing job, I have to admit. Wait until you see the inside.

Jana/Sandtiger ::Who can't wait to hold it in her hands!::

Me too Sandtiger. It is a great cover. Hope it sells well. I can't believe I'll actually read one of your short stories. It's fun to look forward to it. I'll have it before the world fantasy convention I think.

Thanks for all of the good advice re Julie and CJ. I will plan to order some of Julie's works based on your advice.

Cheryl,
Yes, I've read the Fortress series by Cj based on the advice of Trys and others. The books were very well written and I enjoyed them immencely. Was recently in B&N and picked her "The Dreaming Tree". Have read the 1st 90 or so pages and am really enjoying it. Her use of Celtic, Welsh and Old English names is a bit distracting but well worth the effort. I plan to definitely read some if not all of her other works.

Had purchased Dennis L.McKiernan"s Hel's Crucible Duology a couple of years ago but just never got around to reading them. Read them last week and to my pleasant surprise found them to be excellent. I will definitely pickup and read his other works. It was really nice to get back to Warrows, Elfs, Dwarfs, Humans, etc again and the many different planes of life. Reminded me much of the works of Weis and Hickman.

I need to read more of Dennis Mckiernan. I have a few of his books from trade in but haven't read but one of them. Glad Dreaming Tree was good thanks I'll get that then. I haven't read CJ's earlier books I try but it's hard to read earlier works. I always end up getting the latest books and getting behind on them. I'll never catch up. lol Glad you liked Dennis Mckiernan. I got to meet him at Armadillocon didn't get his autograph but I will at next con. He'll be their as well. He's a nice man and reads from his stories very well. I enjoyed meeting him I knew I was around greatness when I met him.
