Cheryl: I just checked Chapters and the date on Terry Goodkind's new book is March and that is for the title "Phantom." It is his second last book apparently. That is on the Canadian Chapters site but when you check amazon for the U.S. site it claims it will be out on July 18. So I guess we will have to wait and see.
Neil: Using the library? Good for you (from a librarian).

Thanks for checking that out. I guess there was a delay in this one. I need time to catch up on reading anyway. I'm enjoying the conclusion of Carol Berg's Bridge of D'Arnath series. The last one is Daughter of the Ancients. It's a great read.

Annettevk (hope I spelled that right, the typeface is not the clearest) - are you a member of Secret Librarians of Fandom? It's a fun chat group, all librarians who love the genre....if you want the link, holler. Seems a fun group.

Hope you all have the chance to check out 'Dark Heart' by Margaret Weiss and David Baldwin. It's an urban fantasy and so a departure from my usual sword and sorcery fantasy which are my favorites. A footnote here.....I don't understand why the suffering of some of the characters in the stories I read bother me and some don't. The main character in the above story, Justin, it didn't really bother me. But when Arithon was being tormented on the ship in the first story, CotMW, it really upset me alot. Oh well!!! too much analysis I guess. [smiling at ya]

It's probably the authors themselves and how sensitive a person they are and how they write it. Some torture bothers me more than others too. Robert Newcomb's new books really bothered me. Too much violence and I can't read it no matter how sorry I feel for them or how much I like them. I hope I can finish his series anyway. I hadn't read Dark Heart by margartet Weis yet. I wasn't sure how that one would be but I'll try it. Thanks.

R. M. Meluch's first book in HOW many years?? Hatefully many - and it's a blast!

Titled the Myriad, and it's got rollicking GREAT characters. Haven't had so much fun in a read in ages and ages and Ages. And in nowise could I have predicted the ending!

Superb!

I finally finished Carol Berg's Bridge of D'Arnath Series and it's excellent. It's four total in this series and it's a great one. Excellent read. I read a Janny and Carol Berg books back to back. That was nice reading. Took me awhile to finish Daughter of the Ancients with the move and dodging hurricanes. I'm glad hurricane season is all done with.

I thought Carol Berg's books are really great. I have this terrible habit when I am reading a couple of different series of projecting the characters of one story into the realm of another. I sure do confuse myself sometimes. but it's alot of fun wondering what the Paravians would make of the Wraeththu:} the WOLS characters are so male and female!! and the F7 would be terribly puzzled at what happened to humanity on those other worlds. I know the earth was a dustball but the Wraeththu were supposed to be living in the ruins anyway. Sorry, must stop rambling, confusion level hitting the top!!!! [grinning at ya]

I just finished reading Trudi Canavan's first book in her new Age of the Five Trilogy. The book is titled Priestess of the White.

If you enjoyed her first trilogy, you'll really enjoy this one - lot more characters, lot more depth to them, and interesting plot. However, you may want to not read it since book 2 isn't out till May and I'm guessing it will be quite a while before book 3 is out *cries*.
