There was some talk on this topic in another thread.
I just wanted to post a few articles here on the issues surrounding whaling.
There has been a moratorium on Whaling in the Southern Hemisphere since 1986, and since then the whale population has recovered by 7% per annum. I've had the privilege of seeing more than 50 whales around the South coast of South Africa in the past two years, and it's such an awe-inspiring sight.
But it's not enough - some species have not been able to recover fully.
