Help Help!!!!

I don't know how to order SF. Sounds stupid I know but Im from the USA and for some reason the publishers here seem to the the American tempermate handles anxiety well. (They are wrong). I don't know where to order. Is there some other poor sole in the US that figured this out already. I don't even know if I can pay for something in pounds. If I were a bit older I am sure I would know this. (darn my youth). Somebody help please.

Hi Brittani

I ordered my copy (not shipped yet....d**n) through Amazon UK. You log onto their website:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/

Search for Stormed Fortress and then add it to your shopping cart. It will prompt you through opening an account - pretty straight forward, but you will need a Visa or Mastercard account to bill to. (Could be someone else's card. You can have different "bill to" and "ship to" addresses, if I remember correctly.) Don't worry about foreign exchange - they'll take care of that conversion for you when they bill your account.

Good luck.

Hi Brittani, you can also order it from www.galaxybooks.com.au

I only list Gaaxy as I work there, we are a specialist Sci-fi/Fantasy Bookshop in Sydney, we do international mail order, SF is in stock and web orders are actioned very quickly. Also you know that a HUGE Janny fan (me!) will be looking after you :-)

I won't hold it against you if use amazon though - I order books from them too sometimes :-)

Winter,

You left out Pennsylvania... we went Democrat last election and that little tiny bit that borders Lake Erie would connect us. :-)

My copy of SF has dispatched today.

To say I'm excited is an understatment. I'm staying away from the spoilers but am itching to know what's in them ;-)

Hi Dorothy

Mine has just been dispatched today so fingers crossed so should yours. Doesn't look like they are using Royal Mail thankfully.
I am so excited I am bursting at the seams.

Pennsylvania is included in that map, I think. Or is Penn not considered part of "New England" and should have been mentioned on its own? I always thought everything north-east of Virgina/West Virgina/Ohio was New England.

California shouldn't separate now for the simple reason that it would be cruel and unusual to make generations of school children have to remember how to spell Schwarzenegger.

My friend in London, UK got a card in the mail from here in 3 days. If Amazon ships on Monday the book might make it by the end of the week. Wonder what the chances are.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

My copy arrived today! Thanks to Mark from Galaxy for getting it to me!

I got home and there was no mail for me, but then the folks got home and apparently it was next to the front door. Goes to show how observant I am!

*skips off merrily to begin his slavery to Janny's written word...*

Winter,

I see PA and NY now. These two states along with New Jersey are not usually included in New England. I believe they get lumped into the Mid-Atlantic states.

I've gotten books from Amazon.co.uk faster than from Amazon.com but with 'increased' border security these days who knows. Amazon has mine scheduled for Nov 2 - 14.

I was notified my copy has been dispatched with an estimated arrival date of Nov. 5. I had started reading the series again and am at the end of COTM. I am going to avoid spoilers and finish reading the series before reading my copy so I get the full effect.

I (happily) got the same message as Susan. Shipped today; ETA is 11/5.

susan - your self control is stunning. I don't think I could be so restrained. our copies due any day now......I think I may be going down with the flu :-)

Unhappily, I'm still Nov. 7-14.

I either admire Susan C's incredible discipline, or am shocked at the denial of her human nature.

To put off reading SF for that long?!?!?!?

Iron will. I'm impressed. I'm more like the kid on Christmas Eve. When the morning comes, the wrapping paper is gonna fly!:-)

When SF comes, I won't sleep much.

Hi all - wow - the excitement here has me bouncing in my seat. (grin) After all, I know what's in store for you....grin again!

I was out in North Dakota for ValleyCon 33 - and was happily surprised to see all - this -- on my return.

And Mark - thank you so much!!!!

Everybody - all the support means - you don't know how much! When readers from all over support a printing that is not on their own turf - or is local to them, and the actual release date is honored - it's just touching. And it counts more thank you know.

I really really really hope, when this book hits and people see what is in it - we get such a buzz going - that there is genuine chagrin from the Powers that Be, that the hardcover was not continued....

(Janny, still fighting that one, but it will have to be a storm from the underground, at this point.)

Can this become a subversive Cult Classic???

Hi Janny, I received my copy of Stormed Fortress on Saturday and am loving it, loving it, loving it.

I'll say nothing to spoil it for everybody still patiently waiting but just wanted to say how privileged we all are to have such a gifted creator of wonder on this earth. Thank you from the bottom of my heart....and please....never stop writing.

Dispatched! Whoop! Clansman, I got Nov 5 for projected delivery date. I wonder why you have a later date, yours got shipped before mine.

Thanks Trys, my US geography isn't stellar. I only have a general sense of where various states are. I classify them into "New England/The cool ones", "Southern States/Ones with the accents", "Prairie States/Ones in the Middle", "Desert States/Wild West ones", and "West Coast/Ones with mountains." And the other two of course. ;)

Probably because Canada Post must drive mine up the 401 after it arrives in Toronto.

A 3.5 hour drive taking 2 days. Definitely sounds like Canada Post.
