*laughs*, well I don't have any local bookstores. We have lots of pubs, clubs and nightclubs and if you get bored of those a new late night take away opens. A book club was the answer to me getting what books I wanted to read. The book is sent after the official release date so I will let you know if it is indeed a hardback copy.

I've laughed and cried - I love it! But now, I have to re-read the whole series, with a different view of Lysaer. It will be like reading a whole new story (sort of like watching "The Sixth Sense" the second time.) This will be my seventh re-read and every time I pick up something new! Thanks Janny for something that is incredibly special in my life.

It's in the post!!! Yeahhhhhhhhh! I might get it on Monday... and I'm not at work on Monday. No housework here if it arrives on Monday :-)

Aphreal,

sfs.co.uk appears to be Specialist Fleet Services website. Can you double check the website for your book club and see if it is fsf.co.uk?

To my knowledge: if there IS a hardbound book club edition, it is smaller format, cheaper paper....the book club edition for Traitor's Knot was distinctly different from the hardback release, for the bookshops...I have no author's copies, for the book club for Stormed Fortress - sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't.

And thanks, everyone, who has expressed their enjoyment. It does put a smile on my face, you bet! to see all that effort nicely received - and on a day of utterly glorious COOL clear weather. Summer is finally letting go.

Booked arrived today, 11/3, in Michigan. I received the email from Amazon.uk on 10/29, and they advised that the book had shipped and ETA was 11/5-11/14. Happy to see it came earlier. Enjoy!

"I have to re-read the whole series, with a different view of Lysaer."

I might be a minority, but I have always felt bad for him, and really wanted to see something good happen to him and ultimately in the end with his brother. Is it too soon to get my hopes up?

Stormed fortress arrived today.

I have to study but something tells me a chapter or two will get read everyday this week. After all, I even neglected studying my finals at uni. to read "Mistress of the Empire".

The delivery is even odder because today is Sunday and in the UK the post office don't tend to deliver on Sundays. Due to a recent strike they are working overtime to clear the backlog. Just goes to show you that my copy of SF had a strong "destiny" or was perhaps "drake-bound" to arrive asap :-)

So my first ever postal package on Sunday. Nice surpise! I'm off...

I walked past an Angus & Robertson bookshop this morning on my way to work, and out of curiosity I went to see if Stormed Fortress was in stock...long story short, I have it in my hands!!! Only another 7 hours before work is finished and I can start reading it on the way home!

YAY Janny---thanks a bunch! :-)

Okay, I read a story in one of Canada's national newspapers that due to the high Canadian dollar, Canadians have gone on an internet shopping spree in the United States. Canada Post is swamped with internet orders, and can't get them out fast enough (for my liking anyway).

THIS is why I see so many posts of my more-southerly neighbouring Janny fans getting their books, while Winter and I, and other Canadians, are still waiting.

I'll probably get really lucky, and my book will sit in Customs for 2 weeks!

Do I sound bitter? I am bitter! This prolonged Christmas Eve is driving me crazy, especially with all of the "First thoughts on finishing SF" e-mails that I have to delete!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!

Clansmen,

Mine have not yet arrived either... in spite of having been dispatched 2 days earlier than Andy's and having an earliest arrival date of this past Friday. Maybe today.

When you go to that URL, Stormed Fortress is one of three books displayed on the front page. The other two are Empire of Ivory by Naomi Novik and Fatal Revenant by Stephen Donaldson.

RE: www.fsf.co.uk

Man, did they get the blurb for SF wrong! The "conclusion to [her] eight-part series"?!?!?!?!? I think not!

Sorry, but we all KNOW that there are two more arcs, with at least three books to go. After all, Janny just made a nasty little jab about Arc IV. I suppose she has to, because she can't do it for SF any longer (except to us poor sods who haven't received our books yet).

I HATE shoddy work. It would have taken about three minutes' digging to get it right...

My book finally arrived today, one day ahead of the estimate on amazon.uk.

No spoilers here, but p. 161-162 blew me away!

I'll go back later and reread everything at a slower pace, I promise!

I got my book early, and I can't help but read it slow, I don't want to miss a thing... I'm usually a very fast reader.

Thanks Janny :-)

Well,

Got on-line and saw that we can only order from http://www.fsf.co.uk if we live in the UK. :-(

Hi Wayne, you can also order SF from Amazon and Play.com.
