Just thought I'd chime in...
I found the opening chapter set, especially Imprisonment, absolutely sublime. The time that Janny spent editing this book (remember last year, folks?) really shows in the sheer beauty of those passages. What she often referred to as the "final polish" has given her prose a wonderful, deep lustry patina that just drowns me.
I almost don't care what is happening, the prose is so damn fine. Note that I said "almost".
And if Arithon gets together with Kerelie, I'll eat my kilt.
LOL, save a bite or two for me, clansman! And I totally agree about the beauty. I cried. Gorgeous, and so sad.
Poor kilt, there will be nothing left of it.
Haha. You're that convinced, eh?
Arithon definitely is a lame duck in need of some love and attention, and I can see Kerelie falling for him. Elaira will still get stuck with him, so nothing to worry about.
