What surprise do you think will occur in Stormed Fortress?
Prize to be given (at author's discretion) for the guess that is EITHER most accurate, or most off base. When you read the story, you will find out which. Humor is Ok, but please avoid the frivolously silly not in spirit with the story or characters to maintain the tone of the contest.
Winner to be the one who gets the most, or all of the three questions.
1) How many of the Fellowship Sorcerers are known to have worn jewelry or ornament? List who, what, where, and when.
2) How many grimwards mentioned thus far hold the Named shade of which dragons? Which, and where are they located.
3) How many different forms of Sight, Prophecy, and Augury are named in the books - the most complete and accurate list is the winner.
These two lines will appear in the book. Go for the translation ahead of time:
"Nai ffiosh e'elen sliet-th'i, my wild falcon!"
"Ath iel i'cuelan allesstairient, Teir's'Ffalenn."
As I close in on the finalization of the manuscript - well, the deadline for these contest submissions will fall soon thereafter....
Nobody had the guts for the trivia?
Amazing.
Trivia to date:
Question 1. - Fellowship Jewellery
Davien - Citrine ring with three interlocking crescents, in Kewar
Kharadmon, Luhaine - does jewellery on a shade count?
Sethvir, Asandir - nothing comes to mind
Traithe - has a knife but that's stretching the definition of jewellery a long way
Ciladis.. only seen in Child of Prophecy, no jewellery mentioned, except his Sunloop, again not jewellery
Question 2. - Grimwards
a. Alqwerick, Athir, Rathain
b. Eckracken, King Drake, Salt Fens, West Shand
c. Eckracken’s mate, Kaithtairr
d. Haspastion, Radmoore, Midhalla
Question 3.
Sight: the s'Valerient version of Sight is one aspect. Steiven knew the manner of his death and Jieret visions after Arithon's tienelle scrying are one such grouping.
Prophecy: Dakar's prescience - that which he rememebers (so is changeable) and that which he doesn't recall and is thought to be "true" prophecy (e.g. Black Rose Prophecy). Arithon's awakened prescience courtesy of his ancestors on the distaff side may or may not fall into the realm of Prophecy
Tribe of Sanpashir - augury in Child of Prophecy that resulted in the birth of Dari s'Ahelas
Augury: Blood augury, Traithe had to do something similar to recall Arithon from the Korias grimward
Adding to the #3, would not the cult-like Priests of the Light count as some form of Augury?
They used specially created syphons and bowls, 'blessed' by Lysaer and hence causing the link to all the bowls, and allowing them to collectively connect to His presence, being an almost-form of scrying?

Was anyone close with regards to the SF speculation?
The 'answers' should be posted in the appropriate subtopic.
x( I still can't find some of those Paravian words. Time to pick them apart again and see if anything new jumps out.
