I stumbled across this recently and found it incredibly amusing How to write an epic fantasy bestseller.

The rest of the site is quite fun too.

That really is pretty funny, Memory. Of course alot of stories follow a basic 'recipe'. My sister had read so many romances, she said she was going to write her own one of these days. But when I was in my romance genre period, the books she and I read were wildly different. She said to me one day after reading one of my romances "I don't know how you can read about that Ginny. She's a slut!". And for that matter all stories throughout time start with 'Once upon a time.' I love them all!!
Actually, if you take out the funny bits - there is really some useful information there. whether or not this 'useful information' comes in handy - remains to be seen.
I have yet to see "And I would like to thank NotTheNet for their great help! Thanks guys, I created my Wise, but useless, Guide and I called him 'ynhazzmhn'" in the Acknowledgements of someone's book.
Still, a funny read nonetheless.
