About Prints

Limited Editions

These reproductions are manufactured on a printing press. Usually a four color process where each color is added one at a time. Under magnification a moire pattern of dots can be seen.

Ink is sprayed or "jetted" onto paper from nozzles that apply the color in a continuous tone. As many as eight or more ink cartridges are in use to replicate color subtleties. Most that we offer are produced on site on a 24" ink jet printer Epson K3 ink jet products and are tested to be light fast for 80 years. We use Hahnehmuhle Photo Rag 308 gsm fine art paper or, an equivalent Lexjet fine art smooth paper. This ensures quality results and allows for a range of customized options.

Print Formatting

Each giclée and limited edition print has a white border, wider at the bottom side. The size refers to the overall outer dimension, not image size. Images are titled at the bottom center and the artist's name is printed below. The white border varies and increases with the dimensions of the image from approximately 3/4" side and top at the small size to 2.5" at the extra large size. Signatures are in pencil at lower right or left corner. Giclée fine art prints are on acid free paper with cotton fibers. Some have a spray varnish coating, however, sweat and oil from excessive handling may discolor the surface. When framing, UV protective glass is recommended and acid free materials. Hang away from direct sunlight to protect the longevity of your purchase.

Watercolor Giclées

The giclées of watercolors are printed on textured fine art paper which emulates watercolor paper and are at approximately the size of the original art.
